About Africa Markets
Africa Markets is a pan-African private markets platform in early access, operated in partnership with Capital Engine. What it is, what is live today and what is still to come.
What Africa Markets is
Africa Markets (africamarkets.com) is a pan-African private markets platform in development. It is being built to give investors a structured way to follow, and in time to invest in, Africa's private companies, and to give those companies a route to raise capital and to offer their shareholders liquidity.
The platform is in early access. Africa Markets is not a licensed exchange or broker, does not currently operate an exchange or any other market in securities, and does not offer investments on this website. Our Disclosures & Risk Warning sets out the full regulatory position.
Who runs it
Africa Markets Inc. is a Delaware corporation. Africa Markets is operated in partnership with Capital Engine®, which provides the underlying technology.
Africa Markets is not itself licensed as a financial services provider. In South Africa, regulated financial services connected with the platform are intended to be provided through Capital Engine Securities, an authorised financial services provider registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSP No. 47750). In the United States, investor access and placements are intended to be provided through Mallory Capital Group, an SEC-registered, FINRA-member broker-dealer.
What is live today
- Deal intelligence. Profiles of funding rounds, secondaries and acquisitions at African private companies, in Deals. Each is researched with AI from public sources and reviewed by our team before it is published. See our editorial policy and how the Deal Signal score works.
- Insights. Articles and analysis on African private markets, in Insights.
- A weekly newsletter. Africa Markets Weekly, by email. Subscribe from the footer of any page.
- A trading demonstration. A sandbox of the call-auction technology the platform will use, funded with demo cash. No real orders are placed, no securities are transferred and no money changes hands.
- An investor dashboard for people who have joined early access.
What is still to come
Primary capital raises for African private companies, and secondary trading of private-company shares, are not live. They will open only once the platform holds, or operates through partners holding, the authorisations required in each jurisdiction it serves. We will announce launch details on this website and in the newsletter.
